Although Dr. Stark raises a number of interesting points and questions about stretching, he fails where most health care professionals fail when they sound off on this subject: by coming to indefensible conclusions and irresponsibly passing them off as, amusingly in this case, “the stark reality” of stretching. When will professionals learn to stop claiming to have a lock on “the truth,” especially on subjects as slippery as stretching? Perhaps when the public stops buying books that make that claim!
