SaveYourself.ca does not even remotely make a profit. Even if it did, it would take a decade for me to earn enough to break even after years of unpaid work. Tutorial sales subsidize my continuing efforts to some extent. But most of the articles here are free and always will be — about as much as a couple dozen books worth. Publishing carefully researched and ethical health care information, and keeping it up to date, takes a great deal of time and money. (Really, really a lot.) It’s also a rare practice on the internet, and it should probably be encouraged.
Here are two great ways to support SaveYourself.ca:
- Link to a tutorial! If you have a blog or website, this is the single most helpful thing you can do. Linking is how Google decides which pages matter! Please don’t hesitate to ask me for help with this, if you need it. I also have a page that explains how to link properly.
- A gratuity! One day a reader sent me $100 because “a few short paragraphs on your website just saved me from wasting hundreds on an irrelevant therapy.” Many others have done the same — though usually in smaller amounts! If you like what I’m up to here, please donate $5, $10 or $15 to the cause.
